Significant Impacts of Note
10th Ave Hospital Zone Improvements: Phase 2
February 2021 to Summer 2021
Monday to Friday: 7am to 5pm, extended hours as needed
Weekends: as needed
We’re making street improvements in the Hospital Zone along 10th Ave between Willow St and Ash St to improve safety and accessibility for all users with a focus on patient and pedestrian safety and comfort.
Work includes:
Sidewalk and pedestrian crossing improvements
Lighting upgrades
Improved passenger loading zones
New protected bike lanes
Green infrastructure improvements to enhance rainwater management
Intersection improvements such as accessible traffic signals and raised intersections
Sewer infrastructure upgrades between Heather St and Ash St
This work follows Phase 1 upgrades to the corridor, completed summer 2018, including completion of safety improvements, Hospital zone signage, and pavement markings along 10th Ave between Oak St and Willow St.

East Robson Street Upgrades (Robson St from Granville St to Beatty St)
Spring 2021 to Fall 2021
Monday to Friday: 7am to 5pm, extended hours as needed
Weekends: as needed
We’re upgrading water, electrical, and street infrastructure along Robson St from Granville St to Beatty St.
Work includes a water main replacement and electrical infrastructure upgrades followed by street rehabilitation including intersection improvements, repaving, and sidewalk and curb restoration where needed.
The new water main will have a life expectancy of 100 years to help serve this growing neighbourhood and street upgrades will make Robson St more comfortable for all users.

Marine Drive Upgrades (Marine Dr from Victoria Dr to Oak St)
January 2021 to Fall 2022
Monday to Friday: 7am to 5pm, extended hours as needed
Weekends: as needed
Starting in January 2021, construction on Marine Dr will begin with water main and sewer upgrades at various locations.
The full scope of upgrades includes:
Water main replacement (3,920 metres)
Sewer separation (1,040 metres)
Complete street repave and sidewalk spot repair
Signal rehabilitation at eight intersections: Oak St, Heather St , 70th Ave, Manitoba St, Main St, Prince Edward St, Victoria Dr, and Khalsa Diwan Rd
Intersection safety upgrades at Cambie St and Manitoba St
Removal of duplicate or redundant electrical poles along Marine Dr

Haro and Bute Infrastructure Upgrades
Monday to Friday: 7am to 5:30pm, extended hours as needed
Weekends: as needed
Watermain construction is scheduled in two phases from spring 2019 to late summer 2021:
Phase 1: Haro St from Chilco to Thurlow streets
Phase 2: Bute St from Haro to W Pender streets
We’re upgrading critical water infrastructure and improving safety for all users along sections of Haro, Bute, Denman, Gilford, and Chilco streets.
Work includes replacing the existing water main below Haro and Bute with a larger-capacity system. This new water main will have a life expectancy of about 100 years to help serve this growing neighbourhood while also improving the system’s seismic resiliency.
We’re also coordinating street upgrades to improve safety for people walking, driving, and cycling, including improvements to the Haro Street Bikeway.

Sewer main construction and temporary road restoration is now complete. Construction is underway at various locations in the project area. This work includes:
Curb and gutter spot repairs and replacements as needed
Restoration of several curb bulges and drop ramps
Installation of green rainwater infrastructure
Full curb to curb street restoration on Pine St between 5th Ave and 8th Ave
